Forgiveness

Forgiveness is essential to human existence. If there were not forgiveness, every human would be hung up on a grudge all the time and nobody would be able to enjoy life. Forgiveness is key to the human psyche because without it we would be ornery and upset at little things that should be forgiven, as well as larger things that take time to forgive. Because of forgiveness we are able to get over things and move on with our lives.

and now for my haiku...

  2. Forgiveness and Psychology

"Forgiveness by itself is still psychologically preferable to holding a grudge. Why? Because the bitterness of a grudge works like a mental poison that doesn’t hurt anyone but yourself. Seeking revenge or wishing harm to another will, at the minimum, deplete your strength and prevent your wounds from healing. In the worst case, the cold hunger for revenge will make you into a victimizer yourself."
